Polycystic kidney animation

This is an animation on polycystic kidney disease I made as part of the MSc Medical Art program.

Firstly I modelled the kidneys in ZBrush. I wanted to make the model look less gruesome while still realistic so I chose a vivid colour palette.

I downloaded the skeleton models from BodyParts3D/Anatomography, and then merged them in Zbrush.

After that, I imported the kidneys and the skeleton together into Keyshot in preparation for rendering.

I applied a clear plastic material to the skeleton to simplify the background and create a contrast with the organic texture of the kidneys.
